Grips

Fly Rod Grips — Cork & Carbon Fiber

Your connection to every cast. Choose the grip that fits your build.

Why the Grip Matters

The grip is the most tactile part of any fly rod — it's where your hand meets the blank, where energy transfers from caster to line, and where comfort over a long day on the water is either earned or lost. A well-chosen grip complements the blank's action, balances the finished rod, and gives the build its signature feel.

Our grip lineup covers everything from classic Portuguese cork in half wells and full wells profiles, to modern carbon fiber options for builders who want a lightweight, contemporary aesthetic. Single-hand, switch, and spey configurations are all represented — so whether you're finishing a delicate 3-weight trout rod or a full two-handed spey build, you'll find the right grip here.

Cork Grips

Cork is the traditional choice for fly rod grips — and for good reason. It's lightweight, warm in the hand, naturally grippy when wet, and improves with age. We carry multiple cork grades and profiles in both half wells and full wells styles, giving you options to match the character of your build.

  • Half Wells — a versatile, comfortable profile that suits most single-hand casting styles; slightly flared at the front for a natural hand position
  • Full Wells — a more pronounced flare at both ends; preferred by many distance casters and streamer anglers for a confident, locked-in grip
  • Available in multiple cork grades and profiles — select the one that best matches your build aesthetic

Carbon Fiber Grips

For builders who want a modern, lightweight alternative to cork, our carbon fiber grips deliver a clean, technical look with excellent durability. Available in half wells and full wells profiles with a 20mm cutout for reel seat fitment.

  • Lightweight and durable — won't absorb water or compress over time
  • Clean, modern aesthetic — pairs beautifully with carbon fiber reel seat inserts and dark thread wraps
  • Available in half wells and full wells

Switch & Spey Grips

Two-handed rods require longer grip configurations to accommodate the upper and lower hand positions. We carry dedicated switch and spey grips in both cork and carbon fiber:

  • Cork Switch Grip & Butt — ideal for switch rods and light spey builds; comfortable for both overhead and spey casting
  • Cork Spey Grip & Butt — full-length cork grip for traditional spey builds; classic feel and proven performance
  • Carbon Fiber Spey Grip & Butt — lightweight and modern; a striking choice for contemporary two-handed builds
